One of the common forms of pain is headaches. Its a major reason why people miss several days at school, work, or visits to the doctor. Some people get headaches when they are exhausted or if they don’t get enough sleep. Others get headaches if they don’t drink enough water during the day.
There are four different types of headaches, and they often signify a problem with our body. When you learn about these signals, you will be able to treat headaches using proper and more efficient methods.

1.) Sinus Headaches
As the name infers, this type of headache is caused by blocked or inflamed sinuses. When suffering from this headache, you will experience pain behind the eyes, cheeks, and nose. The pain will often increase if you bend forward or after you wake up. Some of the common causes include tumors, allergic reactions, or infections. Depending on the cause, the symptoms are similar to those of a migraine.
Sinus Headache Treatment
Ensure you drink more liquids than you normally do. Warm water is recommended because it opens the sinuses and reduces the inflammation. Additionally, you can take soup to reduce the pain, apply hot or cold compresses, and eat fresh ginger. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory and contains pain-reducing properties.
2.) Cluster Headache
This is a type of headache that often recurs, and it appears around the top part of one eye. It has also been found to mostly affect women, and it causes severe pain on one side of the head. In case this happens, you will most likely experience, watery eyes, a rainy nose, or nasal congestion. Currently, the cause for this type of headache is unknown. However, it has been noticed to occur after some nerve pathways in the base of the brain are activated.
Cluster Headache Treatment
Use capsaicin cream due to its active proponents, and Cayenne pepper. When you apply a small amount of this mixture on the nostrils, it blocks signals of the nerve pathways that cause pain.
3.) Tension Headaches
This is the most common type of headaches, and it is caused by constant pain or pressure around the head. Mainly the pain or pressure emanates from the back of the neck and head, or at the temples. This type of headache causes a radiating pain around the eyes, especially below or above the eye sockets. It can last a few minutes or several days if not treated. Some of the common causes include stress, missing meals, alcohol, high emotions, and lack of sleep.
Tension Headache Treatment
Mix ginger tea and peppermint oil to reduce the pain. Also, add more peppermint oil along the hairlines to experience a cooling sensation so that you can relax your neck muscles and head. The ginger tea will reduce the pain and inflammation.
4.) Migraine Headaches
Although migraines are experienced between 25 and 55 years of age, several health professionals have noted that they can also occur regardless of the age. This type of headache is the most complex due to its numerous neurological signs.
Migraines are often manifested by intense, severe, throbbing pain on one side of the head. Only a one-third of all migraine cases patients experience pain on both sides of the head. Other manifestations of migraines include dizziness, visual disturbance, vomiting, nausea, sensitivity to light, touch, smell, and sound, and numbness. These symptoms radiate from the top part of the head downwards.
Migraine Headache Treatment
Most patients suffering from migraines get relief from using Vitamin B12, omega-3, and magnesium. To prevent migraines, include sufficient amounts of these natural cures.
