I always gave my kids cold, wet washcloths (sometimes frozen) to chew on when they were teething and it really helped a lot.

A reaction to the Belladonna? Was that an allergic reaction or something else? How scary. I was going to suggest to use them too, they always seem to help my baby, but not much. My little one is right there with yours right now, he has 4 or 5 teeth coming in all at the same time. One molar and, I think, all 4 canines. His little gums are so swollen, I just know it must hurt terribly. I've been giving him tylenol and orajel as well.

I've heard the teething tablets are dangerous: my sister said that a couple children died because of a reaction to the belladonna in them.

You could try some teething tablets. They are all natural and can be taken as much as needed. I gave them to my babies and it worked really well. Orajel works real well too.

Try one of those freezable teething rings along with the medication - they worked wonders for my daughter. I would check in with your doctor to be sure but why are you only giving one dose per day? Giving it periodically throughout the day (if he's in pain, of course) will keep the pain in control better. If you're waiting until bedtime, the pain has already built up and the dose won't do much for it.

Oh, the poor baby! Thats an awful lot of teeth at once! You might try giving him popsicles, they will help to numb his gums. I believe the containers say not to give it more than 7 days. Have you tried using baby Orajel also? It works really well for my son.
