Subject: | Coffee may not be bad after all | |
I'm a coffee addict. I love the brew but it really does nothing for me. EVERBODY tells me that I should kick habit, before it makes me kick the bucket - problem is, if I try to go without it for any period of time, I get a wicked headache. Now I see that there's no truth to the bad name and if I were a female, I might have even being doing myself a favour. A new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine actually suggests that drinking a LOT of coffee could reduce your risk of death slightly. What have these scientists been drinking all this time? http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/booster_shots/2008/06/drinking-up-the.html |

I knew that coffee could not be all bad. Really this is a very interesting article - I don't look up articles or even look at the paper anymore - don't have enough time - but every once and a while a good one comes along. Thanks for the link - as stated above this was a very interesting article. |

Today we celebrate the good news about the latest study on coffee (or tea or water or fruit, or the air we breath). Next week we will be aghast at that week's study that tells us that another disease will be made deadly by more than one drop of coffee. (or tea or water or fruit, or the air we breath). The month after that, we will again cheer as yet another study tells us that one cup of coffee is fine but two too many. (or tea or water or fruit, or the air we breath). And on and on ad nauseam. I don't trust studies anymore. I will quote the ones that I like or agree with, but I won't really trust any of them. |

I knew it! I worked as a barista in a coffee shop for years, and I don't care what any study says, a little coffee is good for you. Not only that, a little coffee makes sure I don't fall asleep at the wheel at hit you when driving to work in the morning! So really, it's good for everyone! |

I have read good and bad things about coffee over the years. It seems to go in cycles. I just know I enjoy coffee, love drinking it and plan to keep drinking it. Studies are fun to read when they agree with what you like and a pain when they don't. |

cntrybumpkin82, I'm a big skeptic of these studies myself. I just happen to like the findings of this one? ;) I try as far as possible to do things in moderation as, if you follow some of these studies, like you say, you 'd ver know what to believe. |

Whether it is good or bad, if you take it moderately, I guess there is no harm done. My other half is a heavy coffee drinker for years and she say that if she doesn't drink any coffee, she'll be very sleepy. Those caffeine really do wonders to keeping her awake. |
