Learn the Algorithm

The Healthcare 100 is a global ranking of the top English-language healthcare blogs, inspired by the AdAge Power150, a list of the top English-language marketing blogs created by Todd Andrlik.

Our goal is to provide both bloggers and blog readers interested in all aspects of healthcare with a simple way to find the most influential blogs. We rank each blog's influence based on a multimetric algorithm, also inspired by the eDrug Search.

Ranks are based on a combination of the following sources:

Google Points (1 to 30) Google Points is based on Google Pagerank which is a link analysis algorithm that interprets Web links and assigns a numerical weighting (0 to 10) to each site. High-quality sites receive a higher PageRank. We then multiplies this by 3 to bring it in the range of (1 to 30)
Delicious Points (1 to 30) -- The Delicious Points are calculated using the total number of Delicious Bookmark of that blog. We devide this number by a unique number(Based on average score in each category, this vary according to category) to give you your first point, but the denominator increases exponentially. The result of the above process is your Delicious Points, if they are less than or equal to 30, for all the above scores we give 30 points(1 to 30)
Twitter Points (1 to 30) -- Based on Tweet count we provide diffrent blogs the Tweet Points. This is again calculeted using the above formula. (1 to 30)
Facebook Points (1 to 30) -- Based on Facebook Like & share count we provide diffrent blogs FB Points. These points help us know how famous a blog is on the most famous website.(1 to 30)
StumbleUpon Points (1 to 30) -- Based on number of stumbles about the blog we provide diffrent blogs StumbleUpon Points(1 to 30)
LinkedIn Points (1 to 30) -- Based on number of LinkedIn Activites related to the blog we provide diffrent blogs LinkedIn Points(1 to 30)
ThumbsUp Points (1 to 30) -- Based on other numerous social networking sites (Google +1, Digg and Reddit) we provide diffrent blogs ThumbsUp Points(1 to 30)
eDrugSearch.com Points (1 to 50) -- To add a little spice to the Healthcare 100 rankings, we add our own subjective ranking of each blog based on the quality of content and frequency of updates. The reason behind high value to these projects is a very famous thoughts One Who is Famous is not always right and one who is right is not always famous. So based on this I have decided to give the blog with good contents all the chances to top our list.

All of our metrics are added to determine each blogs total score. In the case of ties, the suborder is determined by eDrugSearch.com points. Please click here to see diffrent points.
