Women Specific Vitamins

Are these really much different than the average adult vitamin? I mean I know we have some things we are more prone to than men, but do they really require an entirely different formulation or is this just marketing?

I think that women have different bodies, and it only makes since that they would need different vitamins and minerals than a man would. I know women have different calcium and Iron needs than men do.

Yes! Women also need to have folate in case they become pregnant. I'm of the persuasion that more specified vitamins are better. Young/teen women need different vitamins than women during the childbearing years, who need different vitamins than post-menopausal women. And men need completely different than us. I think it's a good thing.

I use "One-A-Day Women's"

They work very well. I've been using them for a while now and ever since I started I've actually felt much healthier. (I've also been drinking more water).

You can get these almost everywhere, I'm sure you've all seen the commercials.

I think it is a marketing strategy that helps to sell the products but at the same time, it is warranted because our bodies are made up so differently.

I'm wondering if doing research on what you need as a woman at the life stage you are at and making up the difference from generic vitamins might work.
I seem to be in between the stages that are usually on the bottles of women's vitamins.
