White Heads

Is there a way to get of white heads. I have them underneath my eyes an above my eye. I don't know what to do about them. Over the years I have been noticing them what never really thought much of them. People now are noticing them when they are up close talking to me. Can I pop them like a pimple?

You really shouldn't pop pimples as the bacteria that causes them can get shoved back down the pore and create a bigger issue than just the pimple. Have you tried any OTC acne treatments for them?

You're supposed to pop whiteheads. Just make sure you have a tissue or something near by that you can pad it down with.

DO NOT rub the juices that come out off, instead gently pad down until the juices come off and catch on the cotton ball or whatever you are using.

White heads are very noticeable. You should get rid of them every morning if you notice them.

I have my girlfriend pop mine for me.

The bottom line when it comes to fighting whiteheads is by far that of a good skin care routine. Always remove make-up before going to bed. Use a gentle cleanser to wash, never use soap on the face. Follow this up with a toner and moisturizer, so that the skin is deep cleaned and kept soft. On the areas which are affected by whiteheads, usually the chin, forehead and around the nose, use a drying, antiseptic gel, but only when a spot is present or is felt to be forming. Over use of such products will cause unnecessary dryness to the skin, which in turn brings its own problems.

Try to find a product which contains witch hazel, as this is a natural and very affective ingredient for treating whiteheads. Above all, do not be tempted to squeeze a whitehead. Continued squeezing and even picking of spots will most likely leave a person with scarring to the skin. If it is absolutely unavoidable to squeeze a whitehead, then slight pressure, never using fingernails as they dent the skin harshly and contribute to scarring, with tissue paper held between the fingers and the skin is just about acceptable.

When you say they are below your eye, and above, are they way under the eye or on the eyelids? I had one on the eyelid under the eye right on the rim and I went to the doctor to make sure that it didn't bother my eye.

He cleaned it out right away (it was huge) and it never returned. If it is too close to your eye, take it to a doctor.

This topic leaves me with questions.

If its under your eye, do you mean (original writer and skatss) an eye sty?

And what is the difference between a whitehead and a blackhead, are whiteheads the ones that look like pimples but harder to pop?

Lavender, thanks for that point, I really didn't know that. I have always heard not to pop them, but I didn't know why.

Jenbear, I don't think you should touch those pimples though.

It sounds like what you are describing is maybe not a pimple? Do they come and go, or are they persistant? I would see a doctor about them.

Are you finding these when anything else is going on? I would think a sty first as well but it seems those dont happen as much as your saying unless there is something a miss.

I would not pop anything that close to my eyes. I have never had a white head by my eye.
If you get them often- I would have the doctor check it out.
