Varicose Veins

My Mother had them bad and ended up having the main vein in each of her legs stripped to avoid a family history of blood clots forming in the legs. She wears support hose to avoid further problems. The problem is hereditary and I know I am due for the same I'm sure. I'm still young and have no problems. Is there things I can do now that will help reduce the problem in the future.

I am not an expert on the subject, but I believe that always wearing supportive shoes and maintaining a healthy weight will go a long way toward preventing or reducing their future appearance.

I also needs help about treatment of varicose veins. I worked as a saleslady for 5 years. Now my varicose veins are getting worst. It's very disappointing to look at. Do you know any cream to treat these veins?

I don't think that there are any creams that will help the varicose veins. I do know that support hose or stockings are good to wear. I have a friend who has varicose veins and she wears support stockings all year round. Luckily the stockings they have now are a lot better looking than the stockings they had years ago. You can get support stockings that look good on you now!

I also heard that relaxing with your legs up over your head is good to relieve pressure on your veins in your legs. My friend does yoga and does a supported head stand a few times a day. She also bought one of those boards that you relax on from HSN and it rotates so your legs are up over your head. She asked me if I wanted to try it, but it looked too scary for me. But she loves it and says it helps her legs feel better.

I hope these suggestions helps.

Its nice that the elevating your legs helps relieve the pressure. The completely inverted business worries me though. If I am going to have varicose veins I would rather have them in my legs than in my head.
