Pap Test

Cervical cancer is the most common cancer next to breast cancer for women. I never realized how important it was until I had a scare. I went for a pap test and my OBGYN told me that I had some abnormal cervical cells and that they wanted to do more tests. Luckily, my OBGN caught it early and diagnosed it. The abnormal cells disappeared on their own.

Thanks for bringing this up. It is so important for a woman to have a yearly pap done.
I'm glad everything worked out fine for you.

Wow that must have been quite a scare. I did one last week but I haven't gotten back my results yet. How often are they supposed to be done?

Paps should be done yearly for women between menarchy and menopause. More frequently if you have abnormal paps. some say you can go two years if you've never had an abnormal read, but in my opinion, that's a long time to go.

I never knew before that Pap test has so much of importance. I got it first done after marriage and was wondering how could this be avoided in other countries.
