How to reduce weight after pregnancy?
|
|
I delivered my baby 2 months and reduced just a little weight. Everyone said it takes atleast 1 yr to lose weight, is that so? What is the best way to reduce weight in any other way soon?

It's only been 2 months so don't expect miracles already! Nurse as long as possible and eat healthy. Also, take a run on the treadmill everyday while baby is napping.

I would agree with you in that it does take about a year for your body to get back to pre-pregnancy normal. Although, you are never quite the same after having a baby.
A couple of my friends who recently had kids are training for 5k's. I think that would get you back into shape pretty quick.

Nursing really is a wonderful way to lose post baby pounds. The baby is taking it's food from you, and therefore that's calories that you are providing (as nature intended). Women gain weight in pregnancy to help them provide the needed calories for breast feeding, so that in turn takes pounds off.
Be careful not to over train, as you could reduce your milk supply.

Nursing has always taken the pounds right off me too, but some women hold on to it for a while. It took you 10 months to get that big, so don't expect it to go away over night.
There is a cool aerobics class here called "stroller strides" for moms with little babies.

That's not true. When my sister had her first baby she gained a lot of weight and lost ALL of it within 10 months or so. She was back to her normal weight before you knew it.
You just have to work out everyday, maybe get a gym membership or something. That's what my sister did.

Walk.
Put baby in the stroller and WALK. The fresh air is good for both of you and it's easy low-intensity fat-burning for you.
I had no left-over baby fat 3 months after my daughter was born because I took daughter in the stroller and dog on the leash for a simple WALK.

Breastfeeding will definitely help, but careful because there's a trap: you'll reach a stage where your body starts holding onto the last 5 - 10 pounds precisely BECAUSE you're breastfeeding. It needs it as a reserve. So no amount of exercise will get rid of it.
I lost most of my baby weight in 4 months, just by watching what I ate and walking a lot. The last 5 pounds hung around until I stopped breastfeeding, and then they disappeared basically on their own.
