Callouses on the feet.

I have only a little problem with callouses developing on the soles of my feet. I expect it to get worse as I get old. I remember growing up watching my mother take a sanding block to hers. There must be a better way.

Try a pumice stone while you're bathing or showering. I use mine with a bit of lather on it and it really helps to keep the feet softer and prevent callouses from building up too quickly.

I have also heard people swear by putting Vasoline petroleum jelly on them at night and then wearing socks to keep it on. This is supposed soften them and make them easier to remove.

The biggest thing is to stop them being made in the first place. You normally get them from shoes that rub somehow.
So if you get shoes that fit properly then you should be ok.

Walking barefoot also causes these- How do I know? I have them as well. I get pedicures monthly and they take the callouses right off- it's wonderful- Each time they tell me "no more barefoot". I don't listen though- Mine are worse in the summer than in the winter.
