So many weight loss centers here!
|
|
There are many weight loss centers springing up at my place. Is it really that so many obese people here? Those centers really know how to attract customers; they have been distributing flyers showing before and after weight loss pictures and giving money back guarantee. Can I really trust this things?

I think that obesity is a major problem, but where I live we actually have very few weight loss centers.

Weight loss centres are a good tool for those of us that need them. They can offer support, encouragement and motivation.

Well I imagine you can trust them as much as any other business. Depending on the wording of the gaurantee it could be variable if you should trust a place with your money or not.
Most of the weight loss centers which have success give structure, support and help to the people that need it.

Yes, there really are that many obese people. Weight loss centers can be extremely helpful offering instruction and support. Any weight loss program is only as good as your determination to follow it.

The media continuously says the idea that being overweight is the worst thing that a person can be. Because of that, people are terribly frustrated when they have weight to lose and have a tough time getting the extra weight off and so they like to go to weight loss centers to try and lose weight.
They also buy books on losing weight, follow weight gurus that say they know how to lose weight and also go to exercise gyms to try and get fit.
There's nothing wrong in trying to get fit, but I do think that the media pushes paranoia about being overweight far too much and people start to become afraid and then it becomes another reason for stress in our lives.
And excess stress usually makes people over eat.
It's a bad cycle.

I think that most of the alarms about obesity in this country, are fueled by programs looking to capitalize on an aging population.
I don't think we, especially women, are supposed to be nearly as thin as we are led to believe.
