Anyone have hypothyroidism?

If so and you have managed to get your weight under control, I would love to hear tips on what helps. In my case, medication is not doing it alone. I have had things help some (like when the doctor put me on Adderall for my ADD) but that has leveled off now. Do you have any surefire methods for boosting your metabolic activity?

I have low thyroid and have taken synthroid for a few years now. Before they got my dosage correct, I gained about 25 pounds and haven't been able to lose it. I have managed to stop gaining weight finally though! My husband and I take a daily walk which I believe helps to boost my metabolism. I also drink green tea every day. I hope these ideas are helpful.

I tried drinking green tea but I really don't care for the taste. I did recently begin taking green tea extract capsules as well as Vitamin B Complex tabs as both are supposed to support normal thyroid function. I haven't seen any results as of yet but it's only been a couple of months. I have also begun exercising regularly so hope that will help, too.

I was on Syntharoid when i was younger and it messed me up and sent my BP through teh roof.
I too levathropid for one month and it sent me into chronic menstrual cycle. One day off five on.. it was hell.
Finally we managed with some natural medicine to get it out of my system.

Id rather dealw ith normal periods and a bit of weight than go through that again.

I use slimfast and south beach for my diet for my Type I and weight. Works wonders. I liek simmons for exercise, and I have just started belly dancing! thansk to your tube.
Pilates works so quick! I mean one jeans size in two weeks its hard to beleive but it does work that fast. I dropped ofrm an 18w to a sixteenw in three weeks. I am now between 14w and 16w!
I take chromium and high concentration B vitamins. But for the elevated TSH I eat fish.. yup good old fish two ort three times a week.... it works alot better....
maybe we can form a group and help each other work through our weight and TSH..
