ADD drugs?
|
|
I just read an article- where it shows that women are using Adderall (amphetamine) to help with losing weight. This drug is one that is used to help people who suffer from ADD or ADHD.
Taking this drug makes them not eat- but it also can be addicting.
I know I wouldn't do this- How about you?

If it was the best way for me to lose weight, and that weight loss was necessary to end a health issue, I would take it.

My husband has taken Adderall most of his adult life, and while I can't comment on whether or not he has lost weight (he is skinny anyway), I do know that he would have a really hard time getting off of the medication if that day came.

I would not recommend this. Using amphetamines to lose weight is not a wise idea; they have many other side effects besides appetite supression. I think off-label use is dangerous and stupid. You may think you are saving yourself from the effects of being overweight, but amphetamines can harm your body in other ways, in a short period of time. It's not worth it, especially when you are not under the supervision of a doctor.

I think I would want to know just about everything before I put that into my body. I know many people take ADD/ADHD drugs and some of the side effects later are just so wack its not worth it.
