I knew little about this coverage gap until my wife and I both exceeded the amount of our insurance coverage under Medicare. WOW! What a surprise when meds we had been getting for between $20 and $90 (max) US, were now several hundred dollars.

I have been exploring over the counter alternatives as well as Canadian generic drugs. I am meeting again with my Doctor to review what I have found and decide on the right choices for my wife and for me.

In the few weeks since we used up our "high priced" meds my blood glucose readings have become unacceptable. I have found that most know little if anything about "The Coverage Gap" until they fall into it. What a shock. If others have found solutions to this problem will you please share them?
