I worry

I see tons of people in the UK right now that are full grown adults, still living with their parents because its cheaper.

I see people in the states being full grown adults and having roommates, even for people with families just to make ends meet.

I grew up knowing there would be no social security for me when I was older, now I am older and its really scary. I have children and a family, I work insane to make ends meet and I keep thinking of all the seniors now. How are they affording their meds, their homes and now with the market insane - their food??

Social security is available right now, so if you are of age, you might want to look into it. Also Medicare will usually take care of the cost of medications for seniors. I am much younger and doubt it will be their for me when I am of age. I do live with roommates to be able to survive, yes it is a scary and possibly dim future for us all.

You are right to worry about how difficult it will be to survive as we get older.

Right now there is Social Security, and even with all the dire talk about it, I do NOT think the American public will permit it to be taken away from us. A way will be found.

All I can say is that you are doing the right thing to think about making sure you have some money put away for yourself. But do try and enjoy life now with your family.

Being with the people you love is the real way to make sure your future will be happy.

It's fine to live with parents as long as you've got stable job. At least you can help financial problems of the family. Based on my own experience, my parents received money monthly because of their insurance. But every end of the month I still give them a percentage of my wage to show how much I love them.

Well if someone can't afford to live on their own and their parents are willing to let them stay a little longer it's fine. It gives them time to get their act together. But everyone should definitely be out of their parents house and in their own by at least age 25.

It seem the entire world is going through a depression of some sort. People everywhere are complaining about the high cost of living and high taxes.

I'm a senior citizen and my husband and I are retired. We are barely making it on our social security and his retirement income because of the high cost of health insurance and medication. We aren't 65 yet so we don't yet qualify for medicare. Food and gas prices are making things especially difficult for those of us on a fixed income.
