Anxiety Attacks And Xanax
|
|
When I got into my mid 40s I started to have anxiety attacks. They appeared out of nowhere. Mostly I'm fine but every so often I get these attacks for a few weeks.
My dotter gave me some Xanax. It didn't do anything for me. It was like I was taking nothing.
I discovered that taking a sleeping pill helped me a lot. For whatever reason the sleeping pill calms me down far better than the Xananx.

Finding the proper med to work with anxiety attacks, just like depression can be a tough thing. I wouldn't give up hope of finding an appropriate med other than sleeping pills for your anxiety attacks. Using meds for things other than their intended purpose could cause issues down the road.

That is the way that it works for some people. Unfortunately prescription anxiety medication does not work for everyone. We were given Xanax for an elderly lady that I took care of and it did not help her either. Personally, as a panic and anxiety attack sufferer I find controlled breathing works very well for me as an alternative to the meds which do not always help.

I have the same thing and Xanax works for me. Are you taking one or two? My Dr told me that I could take up to two if I needed it. My Dr also put me on a few meds that make it so I don't get them that often. I normally do pretty good now and don't need the Xanax that often.

My doctor put me on paxil years ago for panic attacks. They worked great. Now I take Zolft because the paxil made me gain weight. I still have no problmes with panic attacks. I also take valium but thats for anxiety. The antidepressant was what was first given to me for the panic attacks. After I started those I could actually sleep at night too instead of tossing and turning all night.
