Alzheimer's Testing

Just how good is the testing for Alzheimers these days. My mom is exhibiting the signs of early Alzheimers but I'm not sure she'll submit to testing, or if it would even be conclusive enough to prove anything.

Testing for Alzheimer's has become pretty good especially in the last few years. Early diagnosis has become one of the best new weapons for slowing the progression of Alzhiemers.

There's no real down side to being tested. If you find that she's at the beginning of the disease, there are options you can try to keep her healthy for longer now.

If she isn't going to get it, then you can find out what is bothering her now to try and make her better.

She could be having a reaction to drugs or she can have depression. It's not always Alzheimer's.

I agree, it's not always Alzheimer's. Depending on your mom's age, it could be slight dementia associated with aging. Keep an eye out for additional signs of Alzheimer's which include a change in behavior and moods, in addition to forgetfulness.
