Time between pregnancies

How long did you wait between the birth of one child and becoming pregnant again? How about after a miscarriage? I know I have heard to wait 1 year to get pregnant after a birth, but I have not heard the recommendations if you've had a miscarriage.

I believe it is the same amount of time after a miscarriage. Not only is there physical healing that must take place but often there is a lot of emotional healing needed as well. My niece had a miscarriage last year and was told by the doctor to wait 12-18 months.

I waited seven years between my two children. I am not sure what the status is in miscarriage, I always thought it was between 3-6 months.

I miscarried a twin of my daughter. So I maintained that pregnancy. I ahte to be negative, but you could not pay me, any amount to have another child.
My OBGYN, had back to back pregnancies, even with a miscarriage she didnt wait long to have another. Come to think of it, no one I knew who had a miscarriage waited very long to try again.
I think its really up to the couple,a nd as long as the post event checkup doesnt show anything wrong, why wait, if you really want one.
I thnk teh witing period is a time of grief or mourning more so than physical.

I have always heard a minimum of two years between pregnancies of any type for your body to regain the nutrients lot during pregnancy. While less time can be done, you have to understand why so many early settlers were absolutely haggard between working and having back to back kids.

Wow, that's a long time to wait, 12-18 months. When I had a miscarriage my doctor told us to wait a cycle. We didn't, and everything was fine. I've also been told you should have 1 year between *births* not pregnancies, though that can be harder on mom's body, using calcium stores.
My first two were 17 months apart. Between #2 and 3 was 26 months, and between number 3 and 4 was 21 months. I've been trying for number 5 for 7 months now, (#4 is 19 months old), and no luck yet.

5 years and this was far too young if you can have your kids close together then do so as it is better for them and you.

I was told it takes a women's body 1 year to heel from birth. A miscarrage, I'd say maybe 2 months. Probably just to get mentally prepared. Good Luck:)
