The Morning After Pill

Do you think the morning after pill could, or should, be considered as an effective birth control contraceptive? It seems to be better than the daily regimen of pills, or even condoms, for that matter.

I wouldn't use it as my sole birth control method, that would mess with your body's hormone levels. If it's used, it should be for emergency use, like if the condom broke.

Whether it should be used is a moral question and I'm not going to get into that here!

The morning after pill should be available to anyone who needs it. But it isn't safe enough to be used everyday because it is a strong drug.

If using a condom or the pill is too much for someone to do, then having a baby really isn't for them either. Now that's hard work and important work too. I'd suggest those people make certain that they won't have an accidental pregnancy by having a vasectomy or by getting their tubes cut or tied.

I hate to think that any child who is born should start out as unwanted.

I have heard of cases where it was taken and the person ended up being pregnant still. I think it needs to be clearly advised of how it should be taken and not everyone reads the labels thoroughly before taking the medication.

No, do not use the morning after pill as a birth control! I had to use the morning after pill once and I asked the doctor the same question, they said NO WAY! It will completely mess up your body's hormone system. You will be one cranky girl. In fact, your not supposed to use it more than 3 days I believe? Very bad idea...

I wasn't necessarily thinking of it as for everyday use, but especially if one had sex infrequently and they were to take the pill next day. I had friend who just ballooned while on birth control pills. Anyway, I now have a better understanding of what the morning after does.
