Subject: | Religion Needed? | |
My friend has a very strong belief in God, attends church regularly and seems to lead a very fulfilling life. She says its because of her beliefs. Do you think religion or some sort of belief system is key to leading a happy and fulfilling life? |

I think you need to have faith in something otherwise the stress of normal grind and dealings with work and life will depress you. Those without any type of faith are those I see most suffering. |

I think it is important. I believe it helps to focus us and gives a reason to be. This is not to say that one can't live a fulfilling life without religion, but it helps a great deal. |

Religion is important for certain people, just as spirituality is for others; it's completely a personal thing. If we try not to recognize the wonder of the world and demand proof, it seems unhealthy and unrealistic. Faith is just that. |

I believe we need God in our lives to be happy and to reach our full potential. I believe God has a destiny planned for each of us. If we don't chose the right path the first time, no need to worry he has a backup plan waiting for us. Remember to always expect God's best in your life. |

I don't believe that you need some sort of belief system to be happy...just you keep on doing the right work and you will be happy |

I am happy for your friend. Yes, religion can help a lot especially when you are in down and stressful times. |

I would have to say that I disagree with the majority of the posters. I myself do not have a religion. That is to say, I do not follow any particular religion, and have somewhat eclectic views on "god". I don't follow any spiritual rituals. Up until the age of 18, I was a Baptist, went to church every Sunday, etc. I even attended a Christian school. But I felt that I was living a lie... I didn't truly believe in what I was doing and saying. So I've chosen to leave religion alone. Has it negatively impacted my life? No. I am just as happy and fulfilled as I was. Even more so, actually, because now I don't feel that sense of "guilt" that I think religion often brings. |

Yes it really is. Because you would have to believe in something in order to become who you are spiritually. I also find that my faith is my only companion when I'm literally alone in EVERYTHING. It's something to keep you going.. :] |
