Subject: | Is it possible to love everyone? | |
The bible on many occassions entreats us to love everyone. Is that possible? I think about it often, because there are some people who are so difficult to love. There is a verse that says, 'if is possible one should be at peace with all men'. |

I do not think it is possible, it is desirable, yes, but some people are too hard to get along with. It's like they specificaly set out to be mean to others. |

I think that there is a difference too between Biblical love, and the love that we share with our families and spouse. Its not the same thing, but a mutual respect and caring. |

I personally couldn't love everybody. There are too many idiots in the world who I struggle enough not to slap, let alone love. I'll settle for just not slapping them ;) |

True, pure love is the only way to truly experience God fully...to connect with the God (or Goddess) that you ARE. I AM LOVE is not a cliche. Unconditional, pure love for all, even those who seek to hurt you, is the only way. Finding the ability to radiate that love is not an easy task. The mission is tied to that of LETTING GO and FORGIVING. My mother and I had this discussion recently. It was a long one so I'll not replay the entire thing here (oh hi, btw..this is my first post. My name is Tanya nice to meet ya : )...the topic was "where is heaven?" and my answer is that it is more of a different dimensional state of being that can only be achieved when you are a conduit of pure love. There can be no separation of emotion. You cannot be pure if you harbor hate, mistrust, grudges...etc. How can a pure being be unpure? How can a person be a conduit of love except for this one tiny corner of their soul that holds this dark hate, this blackness of being? It can't! To fully experience God, to reach the Christ consciousness, to ascend to the next dimension of being you must learn to love, unconditionally and without judgment. At least that is what I have come to believe... Just about every sacred text acknowledges that anything impure cannot be in the presence of God...it is not because "God doesn't like the meanies" but because to experience God you must master LOVE...you must acknowledge the God in you and love love love love that freaky being of love and when you do you will find it much easier to spread that love around. Even to people you never ever ever thought you could. Alright ...that concludes my sermon for today ; ) Reverend Tanya Duvic The Church of I AM, Eureka California |

Dogget I tend to have the same slapping feeling as you do. I have patience and even tolerance but sometimes you can meet a person that will test you to your limits, and then I just need to walk away. |

I think we can all accept people as they are, but loving them is another thing all together. I am not sure how much the same those two things are since I am not religious, but I can accept them. |

Rose, I actually believe that you have touched on two different subjects in your beginning question? I do believe it is possible to love everyone in the same manner that Dana S mentions, possible but definitely not easy. And it definitely makes the second issue much easier regarding living at peace with all men. One translation of the Bible says, As much as it is up to you, live at peace with all men. Some people out there just refuse to let anyone live at peace. |

Ha ha Jersey Girl, you hit the nail on the head, some persons, no matter how hard you try, you just can't live at peace with them, I am glad the bible makes an exception. |
