West Nile virus

Health officials in California are urging residents to report any find of dead birds in their neighbourhood - rather than simply disposing the dead bird. They say the birds need to be tested for the West Nile virus and that although no humans in California have so far contracted the virus, the symptoms of the virus in humans resembles that of the flu, but can lead to death.
