"Safe" plastic may now be downgraded to harmful

Research is nearing its completion on the plastic called bisphenol-a, or B.P.A., which is use in many of the plastic based containers that we so often use. It is said to have hormonal changes on animals, therefore it is suspected to have similar effects on humans. Canada is currently leading the research.

Yes, this is something I have been reading a lot about recently and it scares the pants off me. We use plastics as such a huge part of our every day life-how is it possible to completely remain safe from them, completely away from them?

I saw something about this on the news recently. What I heard was if the number on the bottle was 3, 6 or 7 that it was not a safe plastic to use.
Can anyone verify that is true?

Yes that is true, but it's more than that. Number 1 isn't safe if reused, and many food cans are lined with a BPA containing plastic liner. So really, we can't get away from it unless we eat all natural, all fresh, all the time.

I've heard some about this concern in the last week or two, but does anyone have a link that spells it out clearly?

I'm not sure of the details about this.
