Trusting your pharmacist

Do you trust your pharmacist enough to confide in them? The one time I had to, I told her I was asking for a friend.

The pharmacist I go to is whoever is at the counter when I walk up at Walgreens. So I would have to say, no, if it wasn't a medical issue. But I have no problems discussing medical issues.

I do I think they are really helpful and do know what they are advising.

I just read an article about the growing number of mistakes pharmacies are making. Mostly because the big stores are pushing their pharmacists to fill more prescriptions rather than connect with their customers.

I really trust my pharmacist. I go to a small corner store in my neighborhood and have been going there for decades. He knows me and my family. I also know about him and I try to have a conversation with him when I go there.

I think that we all need to make a personal connection with the pharmacist. That way he will pay more attention to what he is giving you.

theer was an error here a long time ago. A pharmacy didnt ahve a particular strength of a medication so they got authorization from teh physician to substitute a split tablet.
Instructions on the vial specifivcally stated to give 1/2 tablet on the proper schedule. so the family, instead gave whole tablets. they did for over a month. The perosn who had been goiven teh tabelets died, and they went after the pharmacy because it was thw rong medication, when it wasnt.
I trust some pharmacists. but not teh ones we ahve been delaingw ith lately, who dont know that OTC afrin doent contain a steroid, or that insulin comes in different types.. ist boggling to think these epople fill our scripts and could be killing us.

Yes for the most part pharmacies are good with the advice they give. In recent year though some mistakes have been made.

I can't say that I do. I did at one time- when I went to a local small pharmacy. I now use CVS or Rite Aid- I don't have any idea who the pharmacist is- I talk to my doctor.

I trust my pharmacist almost more than my doctor. Matter of fact, my pharmacist has caught dosage errors that a doctor had prescribed.

I get on really well with my pharmacist. I can ask her anything and I feel confortable with her.
