Pain and Inflamation

My fiance recently was recently injured during his police training. We still don't know exactly what the problem is but the pain is in his lower leg and calf area. We've been to about 5 different doctors all prescribing medications that don't seem to be working. He's been prescribed Ketoprofen for pain and inflamation, naproxen, tramadol, cyclobenzaprine, ranitidine, ibuprofen, flexarol(a muscle relaxer) and even vicodin. One doctor asked why he had been prescribed vicodin when he hadn't broken anything.
After taking all of these drugs, he didn't receive any relief until he went to see the chiropractor. Now he's able to at least walk but he's still unable to run or jump. Does anyone know of a pain medication that would relieve his pain entirely? I would really be a big help. We've tried everything.

I totally understand you, I really hope they find out what is wrong soon. I have had a knee injury for over 20 years now with which I have had to live, because with all the xrays and test, they are seeing nothing wrong with the knee. I just have immense pain from time to time.

wow....
it sounds like he compressed a disk or two. First your list shows too many teh same style of medications.. too many enhanced addictive pain killers at that. But I see no anti spasmodics?

No sulindac no clinoril?
Myhusband imapcte dhisneck when he was a kid, teh reinjured when he was in martial arts.
He finallyw ent ot teh doctor who saud he compressed vertebrae. Hubby used ot get relief whjen he went to his chiro.
But he needed to see a neurosurgeon to fix the compressed fractures.
You didnt say if he has any smal;l; fracturesin teh bones.. small " shin splint" types where the bone makes little hairs and tiny fractures dont show up but are very painful, especially if they get chilled or cold or overtaxed.

I tore the menescus in my knee when i went skii.. wait that was skifalling...
anyway. they coudlnt find anything and I finally resorted to accupressure and chinese medicine to help heal it.
I woudl go for a rotational series of Xrays to see what could be behind the bones...

It sounds like he had a pinched nerve. Vicodin might take care of the pain now, but if not, he should talk to a doctor...but NOT the doctor who asked why he had been given Micodin without a break being present!

Yeah it does sound like a back injury. He definitly needs to see an orthepedic. Thats my opinion. Try icing it that might help.
