Subject: | Smell The Coffee! | |
Now it's not even the coffee that relieves stress -- it's the aroma of the coffee. A study from South Korea has found (from studying rats deprived of sleep) that the aroma of coffee can relieve stress! As usual they don't understand how it works, but they see that the aroma of coffee activates a number gene that produce proteins with healthful antioxidant activity. The coffee gets into the bloodstream from the aroma. You can read the full story here: http://www.healthier.com/Article.jsp?aid=8034&ref=257104174&zip=11235&sourceid=39757 They don't recommend that we do anything like sniff coffee beans -- yet. They are just going to continue with the study. I wonder if coffee laced with other flavors, like hazelnut or chocolate, will do the same, or more things to us. I'll stick to sipping my coffee -- with my mouth -- for now. |

This is very interesting. I am a wimp when it comes to drinking coffee, but I just love the smell of a fresh pot of java just perking away. I do love cappuchinos and even frappuchinos, but I cannot tolerate the taste of an actual cup of hot coffee. |

I adore the smell of coffee! I have actually quit drinking it because I took my coffee habit to excessive levels, but its good to know that smelling it is helpful:) |
