Surprise, surprise. The family of Esmin Green, the Jamaican woman who recently died on the floor at Kings County Hospital has filed a lawsuit against the hospital and the city of New York, for J$1.8 billion (US$25 million). http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20080709/lead/lead6.html |

Well, this is one case where I can't blame the family for filing suit. That was just horrible that no one noticed or did anything. They should be able to hold everyone in the room responsible for just sitting there while she died. |

Can't blame the family one bit. I find a lot of suits are a bit over the top but in case anything to get the appropriate peoples attention and some action is needed. Twenty five million is a lot though. |

Thank goodness. I hope her family makes a pretty penny off of the hospitals ridiculous negligence. ~ |

I dont think thst the hospital really have a leg to stand on, but I do think that amount of money is a little steep, because who will end up paying for it in the end? you and me!!! |

I am wondering why you think this is not a serious reason to sue the hospital. I have read the story and can't see one reason to support the way the hospital and its workers didn't do anything to help Ms Green. Can you tell me why you think that this was a reasonable way for any health organization to treat their patients? The woman did die and no one cared to help her. Please explain your ideas to me. |
