Subject: | Men Sleep Better Alone | |
I just read a fascinating study on BBC.com saying that men get better sleep when alone, and the opposite is true for women. Anyone sleep in separate beds from their partner for this reason? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/5197440.stm |

We were told that the study involved eight unmarried childless couples, but we weren't told if the couples lived together and usually slept together. I think that's a big question. If these couples normally don't sleep together, than I'd think that it is more that it is unusual for each to have to share the bed, and that makes for a disturbed night's sleep. I don't think that it just has to do with sharing, but with the unusual feelings of sharing the bed when you usually sleep alone. If these couples usually sleep together in bed, then I don't think there would be such a feeling of being disturbed, since it is their habit. I wonder which it is and I wonder why we weren't told. Again, we always hear about sloppy scientific studies just to make a good news bite. |

I sleep separate from my partner simply because he snores but he does not like that I sleep separate and swears he sleeps better when I am in the room. I find this hard to believe though since when I am in the room he is constantly waking every time I move. |

I would love to sleep in a seperate bed from my husband. I do think i would get a better nights sleep that way. Every time he moves in the bed, he wakes me, and quite often I have had an elbow or two hit me in the head!! LOL!! |

I do agree with the study, but for most men they would get killed if they suggested that idea to their partner. |
