Subject: | Heart Attack | |
I bring this up because a co worker died of a massive heart attack a couple days ago. Only 54 years old. Proud of the fact that he hadn't seen a doctor in 10 or 12 years. If you are middle aged or older please go get a phyiscal at least every couple years to make sure you are doing ok. It was quite a shock for the whole team at work especially since a lot of the men in the shop that he worked with are older than he is. |

Unfortunately even with a physical these things still happen. Especially if the first one is massive and not a small heart attack as is common. Physicals may help but general heart health is just as important. |

It is important to go to the doctor but even that won't stop a heart attack. Tim Russert died of one and he was proclaimed in fine shape by his doctor not even a month before he died. There are a lot of factors that make a person healthy or not so healthy. Taking care of yourself and seeing a doctor are just two of them but genetics is a big factor as well. Maybe your co worker had heart disease in his family. I'm sorry for the death of your friend but please don't blame him for his death when I'm sure there was more to it then his not seeing his doctor. |

I think everyone should systematically have a physical every two years, especially if one has concerns about any genetic illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes etc. |

I am sorry for the death of your friend. You just never know anymore so this is why you should be checked out. |

I think going to the doctor regularly is very important. So is good health, a healthy diet, exercise, no excessive alcohol. All of these are great ways to keep your heart healthy. |
