Subject: | Chronic Constipation | |
I have always had trouble with constipation even when I was young, but it seems to be getting worse as I age. I do the whole fiber, fiber, fiber and stool softener routine but I still seem to be having trouble. Is there something else I need to be doing to help with this problem? |

My Dad has this problem and his doctor gave him a whole bunch of helpful advise. First thing my Dad had to do was train himself to have a bowel movement everyday. I do not comprehend how men can get busy and forget to go to the bathroom. That was one thing he was doing wrong and changing that habit made a big difference. Another thing he was doing wrong was not drink sufficient water and or juice. My Dad rarely drank anything that was not either coffee or alcohol (he is not an alcoholic). He also rarely ate whole fruit especially apples. I hope that is helpful. |

Does this also apply for females too? I know that most men are not "forgetfull" but rather prefer to do their duties at home rather than at other places (esp. work). |

Definitely drink more water. You really should be drinking at least 8 glasses a day, with 10-12 being even better. |
