Subject: Balding question

Why is it that men can go bald on their head but not with their face hair? Is it all about the follicles not growing or what actually causes it?

That's a very interesting question, but I am afraid I don't know the answer either. I think it's the way we were made up.

Well the opposite has happened to some females I know with thinning hair on the head, but end up with slight facial hair instead. I think hormones and all the jist are too much for me to try and figure out, so anyone out there who might know, please feel me and Klara in! :)

Urban myth has it that testosterone is involved in male pattern baldness, so perhaps that is why, when a woman suffers from it, they grow hair on the face? It must be horrible to deal with.

I have not been able to find any clinical evidence as to why male pattern baldness is different from female balding. Studies I have read do indicate that it can be genetic.
