What are the causes of extreme body odor? Not like regular you forgot to put on deodorant smell but a full bodied strong odor. This happens even after he showers if he sweats is this just clogged pores or should I be looking into something to detox his system?

A good first step is to have his doctor check him over for any usual diseases. If he comes out with a clean bill of health there are things his doctor can prescribe to help him stop sweating.
He can try soaps that kill bacteria rather than just plain soap.
I think it's always best to start with small changes first before you start looking into big changes.

Definitely have him check in with a doctor. It could be the by product of something much more serious, so there may be some danger in delaying.

Check with a doctor. This could be a variety of strange diseases or health problems. Don't wait, it could turn into something more serious.

My son-in-law has very bad body odor as well and he has seen a Dr who prescribed a special deodorant and foot powder. Seeing a Dr is definitely something that should be done if for no other reason than to rule certain things out.

I would certainly see a doctor, there could be an underlying thyroid problem, and there are also some foods which can cause reactions leading to body odour.
