What benefits have you found from taking vitamin supplements? Do you consider it just as beneficial or even more beneficial to get all your vitamins from natural food sources?

I haven't seen any real benefits to taking vitamins actually. I have tried to take extra of certain ones when I have heard they might help a certain condition, like vitamin C fighting a cold, but I can't say that it has helped at all.
I do try to get all my nutrition via real food though and can't say that my diet lacks anything. Maybe that's why I haven't seen anything great happen when I take vitamins.

These vitamins have very subtle effects unless you are lacking in them to a great extent....then some serious effects will become obvious

I think it is much better to get your vitamins from your food, however, I suffer from anemia and need to take iron suppliments, bacause I simply cannot get enough iron into my system by myself.

If you are eating a well balanced diet then most vitamin supplements should not be needed.

L-Lysine helped me out a lot. I was having skin problems and heard that this could help me out; and it did.

I have been taking Vemma, a liquid vitamin & mineral supplement, and I swear by it. It lowered my blood pressure, my skin looks healthy, I have more energy and just feel healthier. I don't think it is possible to get *all* the vitamins and especially minerals our body needs from food.
