Subject: Charity work

It is very often people will go to do charity works when they have entered their golden age. They will say that they won't have any time for charity works in their younger age. What do you think? I am of the opinion that we need to work and accumulate our wealth for our daily survival and old age in our younger time so that when we are old, we can be independent and don't have to be a burdens to others to support us. Then, we can focus our energy and time to things such as charity works.

I don't see that you need to give up helping others even if you have to work to make a living. If you have the excess time or funds, everyone should do some sort of volunteer work. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Older people simply have more time to devote to helping others. But everyone should so some volunteer work. Teens too.

I volunteer at the animal shelter. I love animals so I get a little back too. I have less time now being a new mom. But I try to help when I can.

For me I try to help out when I can. Many people do not do charitable work when they are younger as they are more active and do not really think about it.

Most people who work full time and have a family simply don't have the time to volunteer anywhere. I know that when I was working full time I barely had time to sleep, let alone do any extra volunteer work.

I would love to do some volunteer work, but I do not simply have the time. I am a working mum and never have a minute to myself, let alone enough time to dedicate to volunteering.

There are a lot of ways to help that do not take a lot of time. I have even done some charity work from my home. Charity work also could be helping an elderly neighbor shovel their walkway, picking up litter at a playgound, etc.

Do you know what? When you are barely making enough for your survival, charity will be the last thing on your mind. I know many of you would say that if we have the heart, we sure can find some time to do charity work. Well, if you are one of them, I believe you haven't gone through what I am going through now.
