Subject: | Cancer survival rates. | |
I was happy to read recently that the cancer survival rate is on the increase. If I look at all the people I know who have suffered at the hands of this illness over the years, only two have died and seven have gone on to live happy, full and well lives. |

What sorts of treatments are credited with the rise in survival rates? Do you think this is because treatments can focus on treating the cancer cells more accurately? |

Cancer survival rate can be high if one discovered that he has cancer early. If the cancer is in the first or second stage, then one will have a very good chance of survival. However, if it is in the last stage, then you can kiss life good bye! |

I definitely believe that the way we treat cancer, in addition to the fact that we now know how to detect many cancers sooner, has a lot to do with the high survival rates. |

Yes I am glad to see survival rates are much higher than ever before. Advancement in medicine and care has really helped. |

Some cancers have made tremendous progress. I was reading about Brian Piccolo again this week and read that the cancer that killed him is now almost 100% curable. In part, that's because of the money the foundation named after Brian has raised. Then we pancreatic cancer that is still such a killer. We've come so far, and yet have so far to go. |

And don`t forget Lukemia. They have made a lot of progress with that one too. I hope to see the day they can cure all cancers. |
