Flu Shot

Did you get the flu shot this past winter? If so, did you still get the flu?
I never get the shot because I think it's hit or miss that it will work. So, I just take my chances and hope for the best.

I'm very skeptical of the flu shot. My father-in-law was one who was supposed to gain great benefit from it. He got sick from the shot every year and caught the flu anyway. This year I did not and many of my friends did. I was the only one who didn't get the flu this past winter.

No one in my house got the shot this year, and we really should have with my sister being so sick. Luckily no one came down with it -- so far.
I always feel like you can't really be sure you've missed the flu until the next year's flu shot is being discussed.

I've never gotten the flu shot, and I was sick this year for the first time in about 8 years (besides minor colds). I think too many vaccinations lowers our immune systems.

I've heard that the flu shot is not a guarantee that you will not become sick, because it is for a specific strain of flu, that you can still get the flu, if the strain is different.
