Free health insurance discounts
|
|
I don't have health insurance and am forced to buy my medications by cash. One of my medications is not available in generic, so I pay a hefty price. I found a prescription card for free that I have used at pharmacies and would receive 20% off. Does anyone know of any more of these free prescription card discount programs?

Together RX is a free prescription discount card for those without insurance and are not eligible for Medicaid. However you must meet the following requirements:
1. Have no prescription drug coverage of any kind. 2. Are not eligible for Medicare. 3. Are a legal resident of the US or Puerto Rico. 4. Have household income equal to or less than:
- $30,000 for a single person
- $40,000 for a family of two
- $50,000 for a family of three
- $60,000 for a family of four
- $70,000 for a family of five
If you have any questions, give them a call at 1-800-444-4106 or check out their site at

What about for people with pre-existing conditions? Does this still apply?
I'm forced into always having a job where the employer offers insurance, otherwise I can't get it on my own.

I am not sure about any for pre-existing conditions, I am dealing with the same thing right now having (what we thought) "decent insurance". Anyone with info please share!

I am believe it does not matter if you have any pre-existing conditions as long as you meet the criteria because it is not insurance, just a prescription discount card. It wouldn't hurt to give them a call.

I just signed up for it. I should be receiving the card in 4-6 days. Thank you so much for the link, I will let you know how it works out. Hopefully, it will save me some money on my prescriptions.

Discount Programs are not insurance, but merely discount cards, kind of like the ones you get at a grocery store to get the advertised savings for milk that week, but instead you get them on prescriptions. There are lots of them out there, and many social groups such as AARP, etc offer their own flavor.
