Stress and Allergies

Anyone else ever notice that the more stressed out you get from dealing with stupid stuff the worse your allergies get? I've been dealing with some less than savory characters lately and my allergies are the worst they've been in years...

Yes, I have that problem too, those it's mostly food sensitivities that flare up for me, not the seasonal allergies.

opps, hit reply too quickly. I meant to also say that even when dealing with stressful situations, if I make sure I have a quiet period of relaxation to myself every night I do much better.

I've never noticed stress making my allergies worse, though they are much worse this year than normally. I put it down to being in a different country, but the stress is huge right now.

I have had allergies bothering me for decades now and I never felt a connection between stress and my stuffy nose.

I find it the other way around. If my nose and sinuses act up, then everything gets worse. I can't cope when I can't breath through my nose and when it's running constantly.

Have you seen any studies that show that there is a relationship between stress and allergies? I'd love to read it.

I have some sinuses weirdness going on right now, thats what I get for going out when everyone cut their grass this past weekend. With stress I have seen that when the sinuses attack my patience level lowers if anything, not so much stress goes up but just any little thing can set me off.

I too have a stuffy nose in times of stress, but I tend to find my food allergies are more prominent with the heat.
