Heart cells cultured in the lab

Wonders never cease. These test are just being done on rats as it is, but it seem to be working. Science is really advancing at a rapid pace, my desire though is that they would find cure to our deadly diseases.

That would be awesome if they can be used to prevent/cure heart diseases. More people die of heart disease every year than of cancers so it is a deadly disease, in my book.

Ever since I saw that famous picture of a mouse with a human ear growing on its back, I've been waiting for the news that they have finally grown a new heart in the laboratory that can be used.

This sounds like the first step. But they will need to be able to get and use embryonic stem cells. I keep hoping that the people who want the use of such cells stopped will see that we need embryonic stem cells. I really think that there might be a way to stop so many diseases once the scientists just find how to really control them.
