Frequency of movements 

  

My significant other and I got into a heated discussion today about how frequent is normal to move the bowels. I'm a once a day sort of person, and she goes every few days. I think my way is healthier of course, but she begs to differ. What do you think?

I think once or twice a day is the average. But I hear that some people are the every couple of days. It can't be healthy to keep all that " crap " up in you for so long.

Experts say that you should go as often as you eat, so three times a day ,but that does seem a little extreme to me. Once a day seems good, but I suppose everyone is different.

I was also told that everyone is different. When you are up there in age then they sometimes recommend making sure there is a bowel movement at least every 3 days to avoid serious side effects. But without that factor with a regular healthy diet everyone is going to be a little different.

Everyone is different. What is good and comfortable for one, might not be for another person.

As long as you feel OK and you are regular in whatever your habit is, of moving your bowels, that is right and healthy for you.

I have problems with movements, sometimes normal, sometimes not. I was talking to my husband and I told him I wish I had normal movements like everyone else. He said "Whose to say what's normal for you? It made sense to me.

Looking at what a movement is made out of it will vary based on how you eat. If you eat alot of crap you make alot of crap. It can be seen easily in dogs. If you feed cheap food the dog will need to eat more and poop mounds. If you switch to a premium food the dog will eat and poop less. I normally go twice a day myself, but if I've eaten less maybe once.
