Is Soy Really Good for You?
|
|
I've been looking into eating more soy protein as part of my diet plan and have really started to wonder if it is better for you. I know there is lots of information about animal protein being hard to digest, etc but is soy really easier to digest?

I have been arguing with my better half over the good and bad of organics. Their answer is "well its got bugs all over it" and Im saying "but it doesnt have chemicals all over it". Im not sure about soy, but I would love the answer.

I've never bought organic produce that had bugs on it. There are many natural alternatives for pest control. As to the soy, I have heard that it is good in moderation but extreme amounts can actually be bad for you. I think the secret is the old adage about having moderation in all things.

Seems like, as is common in the scientific corridors nowadays, the answer depends on which 'expert' you ask. There seems to be a lot of good things to be said for soy but on the other hand, soy can cause some problems especially for people who are predisposed to several other ailments. I guess if you have any medical problems, you should discuss this with your doc first.

Tell him to look up the FDA allowed amount of bug parts in produce and then tell you organic wouldn't at least have less poison with the bugs....I believe it was 3% the last time I checked.
