Subject: | Winter blahs | |
The days are very short this time of year here and I get the blahs. It's dark when I go to work and it is dark when I get home. Anyone have any reasonable low budget solutions for us who suffer natural light deprivation. |

Can you use your lunch break to take a walk outside? Otherwise, you would have to consider one of the SAD lighting systems for indoors, and that wouldn't be so cheap. |

I experience the same thing and that's pretty much how I describe it, too - blah. I don't have seasonal affective disorder but I still feel the difference when the night comes so soon. Get out in the sun whenever you can and open all the shades during the day for as much as you can when you aren't at work. |

The curse of living in a northern location. I think almost everyone is affected by the reduced sunlight during the winter months. Some people suffer far worse than others but I think it is normal. Being cooped up inside because of bad weather sure doesn't help. |

I have never used one of the light things that you have mentioned as most I found were pricey. For me the winter blahs happen mostly when there is no snow on the ground for the holidays (and there wasn't this year either). |

I have some of them as well but I need to stop over eating. I know that is a huge part in why I feel so dumpy like. |

I live in Indiana and my main problem during the winter is that, I feel, if the sun is going to sleep in I should get to sleep in. I have no problem getting up at 5 am no matter how late I was up as long as the sun is up. |

I am well past ready for winter to be over. We have amazing heat in our house but for some reason on the chilly nights my feet just stay cold. Thick or thin socks, shoes or not and even in AZ they are cold. I am so ready for warm toes again. |
