Subject: | Tick Removal | |
My mother-in-law recently sent me an email that said to remove ticks easily, you should put liquid soap on a cotton ball and then put that on the tick. It's supposed to make the tick come loose. I just tried it. It didn't really work for me. The tick seemed to get "angry". He moved his legs away from my skin, but his head stayed in. The soap burned where the tick was located. I was able to remove him with tweezers. Anyone have any easy ways to remove ticks? I live in the woods and they are very common here. |

I was always told by my mom that one ought to use vaseline to remove ticks. She said if you slather vaseline on it, it will suffocate and will then die and of course come out of your skin. Thankfully I have not had occasion to try it but she says it works ! |

I have not heard of Vaseline being used on ticks. It makes sense. I will have to buy some. Ticks are very common here in the country. I hate them, but it's not uncommon to get them after a walk with the dogs. |

That happens a lot. I had to remove the head from my nephew last summer after it had been in for two days. He had showered and thought he had gotten it off but all he did was brush away the body. I had to dig with the tweezers to remove it. |

I do not like bugs to start with but ticks I feel are the worst. I have not had one in years and I mean almost 20 by that. And I have never heard of any of these either. |
