Subject: | The Philtrum | |
The Philtrum is the little dent almost everyone has right under their nose. Question is why do we have one? Does it serve any real function? Honestly I think we look better with one but I can't seem to see any reason for it. |

Some folklore teaches that this is an indent left by the finger of God in the womb to shush the baby before he is born to keep him from speaking of heaven. |

I don't know what the official reason is but it sure makes a nice spot to leave a kiss on a beautiful woman! I really think it has something to do with the mobility of our lips. |

lacy I have heard that too but I heard a different story, it was because if the child spoke then the devil could hear the child before it went to parents (and in turn was innocent). Very odd so many stories for the hush spot. :) |

These are very nice and odd stories. I have never even heard about the philtrum before today, when I get up I will check the mirror to see if I have one. |
