Subject: | That Stitch In The Side | |
Does anyone know how to get rid of that stitch in the side you get when you run or walk too fast. It really bothers me that I have to slow down or even stop walking when it happens. I'm not sure what causes it. I've that it might be caused by too much oxygen or too little water but both of these theories sound silly. How do you get rid of that side pain? |

I'm not sure exactly why it happens but it doesn't seem to if you're in really good shape. If you're walking/running for exercise, you may be pushing a bit too hard or fast for your body. It's better to work up to it instead of going all out to start with. |

I have heard the same thing that certain bodies can only take so much if you are well hydrated and are stretching before running and still experiencing it you may need to tone it down a notch and get up to your desired speed over a course of a few weeks. |

You may be improperly hydrated as that can cause cramps and was something that I had happen quite often when I was running until I started drinking more water before I ran. It could also be your breathing technique. But I would lean more toward dehydration. |
