As I suffer with stress, I was hoping you could all help with any relaxation methods that you may have tried. I am finding it very difficult to sleep at the moment and dont really want to go down the sleeping pill route. |

we have a variety fo sleeping problems in this house. HUbby suffered for yeas with severe insomnia. Often he drinks beer to get to sleep. Now hes learning to: drink a 6 pack, take two aleve and two calms forte and a hot bath.. he often falls asleep in the tub. He and our daughter found a video game that affects the brainwaves and makes them sleepy. My daughter takes two calamsforte and cup of tea..camomile or vanilla I on the other hadn take a single aspirin and I am out! I found hot bubblebaths ahve become my favorite. have you tried: calmsforte? hot bubblebaths or just deep hot baths? Pilates exercise has an endorphin realeasing effect that puts many people to sleep and relaxes them. I also found that two bonine and a single tylenol work very well to get a deep quick sleep in. OK so its not RX but they work without problems. julie |

Some herbal teas can be really helpful. Most will recommend chamomile but I find that mint tea knocks me right out. There are some special herbal mixed teas especially for stress or insomnia. I would visit a health food store or even a regular grocery store and check out what they have. |

When I have to calm down I get our a puzzle book like a word search or a logic puzzle. These are my favorites. The word searches you don't have to think too much. An easy knitting project that isn't complicated helps me too. I just knit and there is no thinking involved. That really helps me too. |

Deep breathing- also relaxing baths with lavender scents. They seem to work for me- I also love to read-- that seems to take the stress right away- as I'm taking away to where ever I'm reading about. |

I also try a relaxing bath and deep breathing usually about an hour before bed I start my routine. For me it also helps to listen to some calming music while I lie down as well. |

Herbal teas can help you sleep as can having a high protein snack before bed. Are you sure it is the stress keeping you up? I was having sleeping problems and I also suffer from depression so the Dr gave me something that helps with both. There are some good ideas in this string (lavender in the tub) and hopefully one will work for you. |

I cup of camomille tea is said to work wonders, I don't like tea so I've never tried it. I read a boring book when I can't get to sleep. |
