Subject: | Stopping Lunch-Time Trash | |
I read today that if 10,000 people packed their kid's lunch in a reusable box or bag, that in one school year 1.8 million brown paper bags could be kept out of landfills. Can you imagine how many landfills would go down if all kids again used the lunch boxes that kids of my generation used? |

Wow! That's a lot, and I don't doubt it for a minute. |

I dont know why kids are not using lunch boxes rather than paper bag, I am sure it would keep the food fresher too. |

Wow is right. My daughter has always used a lunchpail. The only time she brownbags it- is when it's requested- for field trips or what not- so they don't have to carry the pails with them. |

Maybe the schools should take to offering some sort of incentive for the students that are using reusable lunchboxes in order to get everyone to start doing it. Schools are usually great at organizing things like that! |

Putting the numbers out like that can really show just how much waste we all have. I think its totally crazy that most schools still do not offer proper recycling. |
