Subject: | spritzer | |
We used to get used to having to do this when we lived in the NE states during cold winters and expecting the pipes to freeze. Who else has a winter plan for when this type of thing happens? |

LOL - I wondered what "spritzer" had to do with frozen pipes. Thought perhaps it was a term that I hadn't heard before. We make sure that the pipes in the house are protected with foam wraps and we keep everything heated at least a bit to avoid frozen pipes. Anyplace that doesn't get used on a regular basis, we make sure to run water periodically like the basement sinks that are rarely used. |

Its a new word for it! haha Right now our pipes are doing kind of okay considering I live in AZ now but my folks are not as lucky. So far 2 siblings have both had pipes burst and since I have not been there in forever I was not much help when they asked me. This while they did run some extra water (both were basement pipes), other than that I had no clue what to tell them. |

I've never had a pipe burst but I've also never been away in the winter time. So my heating is always on in the coldest times, and I open the cupboards if it looks like being a really bad night. Add the foam insulation to that too and we are good to go. |
