Why do people shrink as they get older? I have noticed this a year ago. I am not that tall to begin with but I have shrunk. |

As you get older, you can lose cartilage between the bones of your spine for one and you can lose bone, too. Gravity does a number on all of us. Some people shrink more than others as osteoporosis can cause stress fractures that the person may not be aware of through their spines. |

yes osteoporosis is the main cause for shrinking... b not otnly in spine but also in long bones. I noticed young women who are young developing dowegers humps. Its scary with as good of diet as we have available there should be no reason for it.. I was reading an article that you can regain a littlke height if you eat a very well balanced high phosporus and magnesium dietw hen eating ahigh calcium diet... I can tell you that I had my density tested, and they were shocked ot see hwo dense the bones were...... so a good diet even if you have other diseases helps.... |

I started to shrink but only after I was in a car wreck and my back/neck were messed up. I figure I have some skrinage but its not enough just yet that doctors are running tests or anything. |

This is definitely not good for me to be hearing. I am already very short and losing any of these hard-earned inches is definitely something that I was counting on. |
