We got a new dishwasher and there is a sanitize button for it, I have not used a DW in over 5 years so I am curious if anyone knows. Is there a large difference using this button? I would like to think what I eat from is going to be safe for me.

I would not think, under normal circumstances that it would be necessary to sanitize your dishes. When dishes are washed by hand they are not sanitized. If your dishwasher is using hot water, sanitation should not be necessary.
